This is an inexpensive way to make an adapter and keep from losing it down the hole you just drilled. Also how to keep your augers blades razor sharp.

Air hammer will knock it off a lot faster, but like others have said, great for detail work.

I prefer the old fashioned method , Sand blasting
Sand blasting doesnt work great for thick rust scale. Quicker to chip it off and then clean the surface with a blaster
@@hgpo27 , I have a air hammer for thick rust and most gets vibrated off , then a little wire brushing and then sand blasting , then POR-15
@@jimthomas777 yeah. I'm prepping my frame for my 67 fury. Lots of old undercoat and scale. Probably won't paint because I've had issues in the past. Usually just coat in fluid film
Air hammer and rubber band works way better and faster ... and 25 bucks at harbor freight ... that needle scaler was painful to watch
I do hull restoration on large vessels and chipping scale rust off of decks, gunnels, foc'sles and padeyes is so satisfying. From brown and orange to a shiny silver after some nice care.
An air chisel would be faster, the needle scaler works but slower and is good for small detail areas.
